MIOG-NP celebrates the graduation of its fifth cohort of internationally certified welders, ready to drive industrial excellence.
Strengthening the Skilled Workforce
A new wave of world-class expertise is entering the industrial sector following the graduation of the second cohort of the International Welder Diploma. The ceremony was held on 2nd July 2026 at the Nairobi Campus. It marked the successful completion of intensive training aligned with international industry standards.
Building on the success of previous cohorts, the graduation highlights MIOG-NP's growing role as a centre of excellence in welding training and certification. Through its partnership with the Southern African Institute of Welding (SAIW), the institution continues to deliver globally recognized training. This prepares graduates for careers in the oil and gas, manufacturing, construction, and engineering sectors.
Training Aligned with Global Standards
The International Welder Diploma combines both theoretical and practical training with internationally benchmarked assessments. Consequently, trainees develop technical competence, precision, and a strong commitment to workplace safety.
In addition, participants gain extensive hands-on experience using industry-standard equipment. Furthermore, they master advanced welding techniques that align with global best practices. As such, they graduate with the skills required to excel in demanding industrial environments.
Celebrating Achievement and Excellence
Speaking during the ceremony, MIOG-NP Registrar Eng. James Kahero commended the graduates for their dedication, resilience, and commitment to excellence. He noted that their success reflects both their hard work and the institute's mission to bridge technical skills gaps through quality, industry-driven education.
"Today's graduates are not only certified welders; they are globally competitive professionals equipped to drive industrial growth and innovation."
Building Industry-Relevant Skills
The graduation reaffirmed the value of strong industry partnerships in advancing technical and vocational training. By aligning its programmes with international certification standards, MIOG-NP continues to enhance the employability and global competitiveness of its graduates.
The institution also contributes to Kenya's industrial development agenda by producing skilled professionals who can meet evolving workforce demands.
Looking Ahead
As they begin the next phase of their careers, the graduates join a growing network of internationally certified welders. They are prepared to support critical infrastructure, energy, manufacturing, and construction projects both locally and internationally.
The graduation of the cohort marks another milestone in MIOG-NP's journey toward becoming a leading provider of globally recognized technical training. It also reinforces the institute's commitment to workforce development across the region.
